The Future
“No one saves us but ourselves. No one can and no one may. We ourselves must walk the path.”
― Gautama Buddha

No one ever really knows what the future holds but the one thing I do know, we are the only ones that can do anything about it.
The one thing I really learned in the Infantry, was the calvary is never coming to save the day. We can only save ourselves.

Here are a few things I hope to accomplish for myself and for your Council if you should give me the chance.
Personally:
-
I hope to my strengthen my relationship with my son's as they grow older and help them through the challenges of life.
-
Continue to be a strong husband and friend to my wife as we have more and more time with just us.
-
Learn and grow in my new role as a grandfather to be the best that he deserves.
-
Learn something completely new, like a new hobby or language.
Professionally:
-
Build a strong culture of achievement and fun in a team of people dedicated to success.
-
Work with local communities to ensure that Scouting is a major part of their everyday plans.
-
Use my understanding of capital improvements to engage Scouting volunteers and community supporters to build a strong fundraising plan.
-
Work closely with local community leaders that work with the underserved to show what Scouting can do for them.
-
Develop a comprehensive plan to engage current and past volunteers on continuing to improve Scouting and show the community we have much more to give.

The Boy Scouts of America has been an important part of my life and my families' life. I now have more reason than ever to ensure this program continues to be strong. In 17 years I want to be able to attend my grandson's Eagle ceremony. We as an organization have so much to give. The last few years have been tough, but we have so much more to do and many more youth to show what a difference Scouting can be for them. No one is going to do it for us, but if we show them who we are, they will know how much we are needed today.
